We flew into Guayaquil from Galapagos and headed straight back to the hotel we stayed at the first time. After wandering around looking for a travel agent for a couple of hours without luck we decided to head to a hostel with a travel agent (turns out his wife works as a naturalist guide in the galapagos on the boat we were on!)... The hostel was really nice and must of had something to do with a wildlife breeding program as they had some pigmy monkeys (Marmosets) living at the hostel.

The next day we headed into Guayaquil city to post a box of souvenirs home that Steph had bought in the Galapagos. At the post office we were directed to a specific attendant, we think probably the only one that spoke any english, which it turns out, made life a lot easier! $40 later and we were on our way!
We then headed up to Las penas, an old cobblestone street suburb that had been rebuilt after a fire destroyed it. The buildings all cling to the side of a very steep hill, and there are 440 steps winding through the buildings, to the view at the top.
We were on a bus to Peru the next day, we thought about going to a couple of diferent places in Ecuador but didn't want to head north.
